Annual Sickle Cell Walk-A-Thon
The Sickle Cell Disease Walk-A-Thon in Memphis originated in 2007. It has been developed to create a greater awareness in the Memphis community of Sickle Cell Disease and to raise money for patient care, social services, and research. All proceeds from the Walk-A-Thon will directly benefit people living with Sickle Cell. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals living with this debilitating disease.
All proceeds from the Walk-A-Thon will directly benefit individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease and the Education Programs for the Alpha Memphis Education Foundation. The latter works directly with the population most affected by this disease. We are grateful to all of our sponsors. See Photos
Annual AMEF Memorial Golf Tournament
Alpha Memphis Education Foundation serves hundreds of youth annually through a range of programs. The Memorial Golf Tournament is the primary fundraiser for the foundation's activities. Proceeds benefit the programs of Alpha Memphis Education Foundation including:The 2011 tournament will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Links of Pine Hill Golf Course, 1005 Alice Ave, Memphis, TN. This year's honoree is the late Don A. Lee. The event will begin at 8AM (Breakfast will be available is 7:15AM). Sign up to become a sponsor for this year's tournament.
